Media Report

The genre that i have chosen to base my film around is 'Superhero.' I have chosen this so i can use my knowledge with similar films that i have watched/studied to create a brilliant idea. In my film i want to stray a bit from the usual codes and conventions of a superhero film, but keep the main aspects of them so the viewers will understand whats happening and feel as if it's a real superhero movie.

To make my movie slightly different to other superhero based films, I intend to use some of the following ideas: I want my superhero not to get the damsel , i feel this will make my film unique and kind of create a little cliffhanger. I hope this will create the sense of 'Will he reconsider his decision and go back to her if there is a second film?' I got this idea from watching "The amazing spider-man." This film gave me these impressions which i hope my film would do the same to it's audience. I also want the superhero to start off as a bit of a villain and turn to the good side, this will create a bit of a twist that will hopefully keep the viewers engaged and want to stay till the end to see how it turns out. This is just one of my idea's that i haven't seen anywhere else and i think would be a really strong idea.

I have been looking on the internet at powers for my superhero, it was if all the good powers were already taken, so i decided for him not to have one. To gain a better knowledge i watched the film 'Kick ass' this film helped me come to the fact that my superhero need other key factors such as determination to stop crime, perhaps due to something that happened in the past, he also needs weapon to protect himself. He also needed to be fearless and fight even if he is the underdog.

I then had to come to a decision of who my film was going to be aimed at. After asking a few people in my friendship groups, they all said they liked watching superhero films as they found them exciting and enjoyable to watch. After searching through the internet and looking up the major superhero films such as 'Iron-man' and 'The incredible hulk' most film like these all contained an age rating of 15. After further searching I found that they all mainly aimed there films at older-teenagers or young adults mainly of the 15-25 age range. I then come to the decision to aim my film at this age range to attract a similar audience.
